Custom Manufacturing Solutions

If your final product needs assembling and optionally needs to pass Quality Check before distributing to your customer, you often find yourself in the need of a proper work flow and software to track the processes of Assembling or Building, Quality Control, Part Tracking and Inventory Control, Cost Tracking of each Building Job.

Our flagship product SiP provides these capabilities in additional to the Presale, Ordering, Invoicing, Shipping and After-Sale Support functionalities described in the [Distribution Solutions]. You may look at [a real life case study of SiP’s implementation in the Custom Manufacturing industry].

The following also gives a summary of SiP’s special features for the Custom Manufacturing industry.

Track Building / Assembling Job

The Manufacturing Team receives a Sales Order and applies new Building Jobs to the Sales Order as they are doing the assembly work for the Sales Order. For each unit they build, they create a Job and apply Inventory Parts, Consumables and Work Time to the Job.

Quality Control

After a unit is build, a Quality Check list, specific to the type of final product built, will be attached to the Job which builds the unit. Quality Control staff can then use the Quality Check list to go through the various quality test required and record the result and tester name. Only units which have passed all QC test can be shipped to customers.

Cost Tracking

You can track the cost of each building Job as it is being done, including inventory cost and payroll.

If you are assembling simple products, SiP can use Sales Order as your cost centre. This means you can view reports which show total costs of implementing the Sales Order (inventory costs, consumable cost and payroll) versus the total sales. Thus it will show you the gross profit for each Sales Order and on higher levels, for each customer.

If your Job is more like a project, i.e. modifying a truck, SiP can use a Job as the cost centre. This means you use SiP Job module as the project cost tracking tool, which will track and summarize all project costs for you, including inventory costs, consumable cost and payroll.

Job Template

If the team is building multiple units of the same type of final product, a Job Template can be created for the type of final product, where standard amount of inventory parts, consumables and work time are specified. When the team creates a unit of some type of final product, they create a Job from the corresponding Job Template and apply it to the Sales Order. If this unit requires different parts, consumables or work time from those specified in the Job Template, they can always change them in the Job.
